God’s Love on Display   Romans 5:8 But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.   Scripture Reading – Psalm 89   The heart of the gospel is put on display in the extravagant and costly demonstration of His love for sinners. God’s love is not conditional, wavering, or earned. It is steadfast, proven in sacrifice. Psalm 89 echoes this reality, celebrating God’s unfailing covenant love and faithfulness “to all generations.” Even when human promises falter, God’s word and love stand firm. This truth anchors us in times of doubt or failure. Our worth is not measured by success or holiness but by God’s unchanging love displayed at the cross. We can rest in the assurance that God sees us fully, loves us completely, and remains faithful eternally. His love is the foundation of our worship and our hope.   Worship songs often carry truth deeper into our hearts than words alone.  All Creatures (Sing the Harmony)  invites all c...

This Is Not The End   2 Corinthians 4:16–18 16 So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.  17 For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison,  18 as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.   Scripture Reading – Psalm 88   Psalm 88 stands alone in its darkness, ending without resolution. The psalmist voices raw despair, showing us that even unrelieved lament belongs in prayer. Yet the New Testament gives us a horizon beyond the psalm’s silence. Paul reminds us that though “outwardly we are wasting away,” God is renewing us inwardly. Our afflictions—though heavy—are “light and momentary” in comparison to the eternal weight of glory ahead. Together, these texts teach us the honesty of grief and the persistence of hope. Fait...

September 12, 2025 – All the Peoples Ephesians 1:7-10 –  7  In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,   8  which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight   9  making known [  to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ  10  as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in Christ, things in heaven and things on earth in him.   Scripture Reading – Psalm 87   God desires to dwell with his people. But that begs two questions. Who are God’s people and where will they dwell with him? God promised Abraham that he would make him a great nation, and that through him  all the families of the earth shall be blessed.  (Gen. 12:1-2). The descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob became known as the nation of Israel. But that’s not where the ancestry ends. We see thro...

Forgiven and Victorious in Christ 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.   Scripture Reading – Psalm 86   Confession is not about wallowing in guilt—it’s about running to the God who is rich in mercy. Psalm 86 reminds us that God is “good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon him.” When we confess, we’re not hoping for forgiveness but claiming the forgiveness already secured in Christ. God’s justice demands sin be dealt with, and in Jesus it has been fully satisfied. The promise of 1 John 1:9 assures us that confession is always met with cleansing, not condemnation. Like the psalmist, we can call upon the Lord with confidence, knowing that He not only hears us but delights to show mercy. Confession restores intimacy with God and renews joy in His steadfast love. Worship often helps us grasp truths Scripture declares.  You’ve Already Won  reminds us that th...
