Magnify the Lord   Psalm 34:3 Oh, magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together!   Scripture Reading – Psalm 93 In Psalm 34:3 the Psalmist begins with an invitation to worship that is communal and compelling. Psalm 93 shifts the scene from invitation to foundation, the enthronement of God—he rules; his majesty surrounds the world; his faithfulness establishes the seas and the world. Together these texts move us from an active call to praise into confident submission to a reigning God. When we join voices to magnify the Lord, we do more than sing; we acknowledge that the One we praise is supreme over chaos, unshaken by storms, and worthy of our trust. Amen.    Scripture Reading – Psalm 92 For our call to worship this Sunday, we will read together Ephesians 3:20-21, which reminds us that God can do immeasurably more than we can imagine, working in us and through us according to His power.   October 10, 2025 - Hold Fast to Him in Love 2 Thessalonians 3:3,5 –  The Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one. May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ.   Scripture Reading – Psalm 91   We don’t know the author of Psalm 91, but we do know it’s someone who is giving testimony of the hope he has of dwelling, abiding, living, and resting with the Most High. In doing so, the psalmist is acknowledging that the LORD has provided shelter, protection, refuge and deliverance for him.   The dramatic ending of Psalm 91 is God himself sharing the hope and promise for the one who “holds fast to him in love” (v. 14). This phrase is translated differently “because he has his heart set on me” (CSB); “because he loves me” (NIV). Take Heart!   John 16:33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.   Scripture Reading – Psalm 90   Jesus warns his disciples that trouble is coming, even to the point that they will be scatterd (John 16:32).  But then he says,  “But take heart! I have overcome the world.”  These words are both honest and hope-filled. Jesus doesn’t promise a life without hardship, but He gives us something far better: His victory. Psalm 90 reminds us of our human frailty— “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”  (v.12) Life is brief, but God is eternal. In the face of life’s troubles, our hope isn’t found in control or comfort but in the One who reigns over time itself.
